2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L STYLING & INTERIOR FEATURES

Inside, the Grand Cherokee L boasts a lot of space. Drivers of all sizes should perfectly fit in the front, and passengers up to 6 feet tall can sit comfortably in the second and third rows. However, the second row’s helpful tilt-and-slide feature makes it simple to reach the third-row seats.
The controls are wrapped in glossy piano black plastic. It has easy-to-see grease spots and feels more like an economy car. The dials are large and easy to grip, and the buttons are at right angles, making the operation a great experience.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L model is available with Uconnect 5, the latest infotainment system from parent company Stellantis. It has clear graphics, and the built-in navigation system provides helpful step-by-step route guidance. Unfortunately, the screen is tilted upwards and easily reflects glare from direct sunlight.
Smartphone integration for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard. However, our test car dropped a call while using CarPlay, and the system shut down twice without warning. This doesn’t happen as often in other vehicles with the same technology. We love the advanced driver assistance systems on the Grand Cherokee L. For example, the adaptive cruise control brakes and accelerates smoothly, and the lane-keeping system does a great job of keeping this big SUV where it needs to be.

The Grand Cherokee L’s maximum cargo capacity is less than three-row competitors like the Volkswagen Atlas and Kia Telluride. Even if the cargo floor is relatively high, the 17.2 cubic feet of space it has behind the third row is plenty for daily duties. There is plenty of storage space for small items, with plenty of cup holders and spacious center console drawers in the first and second rows. But we were a little puzzled why our test car didn’t have child seat anchors in the third-row cushions.

2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L SPECS

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L model is a mid-size SUV with three rows of seats for six or seven passengers. Trim levels include Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. All these Jeep models come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 290 horsepower and 257 lb-ft of torque. 5.7-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 357 hp. and 390 lb-ft is optional on Overland and Summit trims. However, you must have the AWD model for the V8 to be an option. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
